: Location was fantastic. It also felt like staying in a piece of history - a residential hotel built in 1906.
: The shared bathrooms were clean but you have to use the sink in your room to wash your hands as there are no sinks. The rooms smelt a bit musty but they were clean and modern. Yh

: 3 bookings & 10 nights this Summer, Hotel North Beach has been a solid go to for me.The superb City of San Francisco is unique fur many reasons we knows and love. The cultures , the food, architecture, The Golden Gate, and progressive approach mikes ahead of most other Cities in the US.No city in the country offers less of the bland homogeneousness that has come to dominate many of the country's other major Cities. You can feel the slightly different vibes and rhythms from neighborhood to neighborhood.A inclusive, 800,000 person swath of dialects , cultures and humanity.types & their histories.I maybe romanticized a little but..Hotel North Beach reminds me of that aspect of The City.Great deal, great rooms, (this night the room wasn't as cool, but July 4th, I booked last minute - good rate..Front Desk woman who checked me in was awesome. No complaints.)Showers, facilities always clean no matter what time of day.Never once had to wait, etc..Great people, good location, stunning neighborhood.wth it's own vibe.Like San Francisco..

  : Great location
: Rats! A giant rat literally ran across my foot in the hallway! Roaches, spiders and mosquitoes, we stayed 1 month and left covered in itchy bites. Had to by a fan because the room got so stuffy and hot even with window open 24/7. Never received any maid service the entire stay and then got charged $20 for excessively soiled bed linens that the maid would not give us new ones for. In addition to that $20 for the sheets we also didn’t get our deposit back. This place is very odd and most of the staff isn’t attentive or friendly or helpful at all. Never experienced a rat situation like this in a paid hotel though.. I’m still traumatized.

: Room was clean and comfortable. Bathrooms and showers were shared with the hallway but there were multiple on the same floor. Location was very convenient, close to Chinatown so many good food options around.
: Bathrooms and rooms lacked soap, and I had to tell someone working there to give me soap and shampoo.

Poor

Very Poor
Traveller Type: solo traveller
: Cheap price, nice air quality in the area
: Bed bugs in the room, poor customer service, sketchy people in the neighborhood, weed smells in the hotel

Very Poor

  : Kind front desk people.
: There was no breakfast. I’d kindly remove that from the description of the North Beach hotel. Also, why were the window shades broken in a bathroom that could potentially be seen into and may be uncomfortable to outsiders. What’s even more uncomfortable is finding bedbugs. Maybe if the cleaning people cleaned the rooms a little better this could’ve been avoided but then again can’t do much if one of the permanent residents has a bed bug infestation.

: Everyday showers and toilets were kept clean. Making sure toilets had toilet rolls. The same with the showers. Making sure the towel was there to step onto after the shower. The only issue I had was my room. When I enter the room, I checked the drawers where the lamp sat. The top drawer had rubbish with empty food containers. The bottom drawer, the front part almost broke off. So I empty the rubbish, clean and fixed both drawers. I caught few cockroaches. It didn't bother me because I expect cockroaches from these old buildings. Not only they're old but also surrounded by restaurants infested with cockroaches and rats. There were unnecessary loud noises for the first time. Loud music, people screaming in the middle and early hours of the night for few days. Other than that, I enjoy my stay over there. As long as you keep and mind your own business, everything is going to be fine.
