  : While beds were fine, the furniture and hotel seemed dated. Very limited tv stations. Railing on outdoor jacuzzi was broken 5 years ago on my stay, still is.

  : I was a little disappointed as they are going under major construction. I did not know that at the time so it was smelly. I don’t normally complain, but the stuff were nice.

  : The staff, especially Jen, were welcoming and helpful. That personal attention more/less 'made' my visit,especially as the property was a big disappointment, especially for the money!I also appreciated the room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.
  : The property is apparently 'readying for a renovation.' It REALLY needs an upgrade--carpets areworn and look dirty, the room 'appointments' are outdated (e.g., small TV, minimal tech plug-ins), thedoors are super heavy, the elevator is so abysmally slow as to be useless, and both the pool and hot tublook old and uninviting. The price was outrageously high for what the property offered, and the additional $16 parking fee (and $31 'city fees') tipped the scale toward feeling genuinely ripped off. I don't recall recent travelers' online reviews including mention of these issues, which makes me think the hotel selectively sifts the reviews for those which are positive. The breakfast was mediocre, with few healthy options. For example, scrambled eggs were unavailable when I went at 8am, for a breakfast supposedly served until 9:30 am. Coffee was out, as well.

  : Bed was great. Breakfast was great. Spa tub was amazing until we drained it and saw how dirty it was. When I stayed in 2002 the place was top notch, 2024 it sucks. Every staff member we came into contact with was friendly.
  : Spa tub was clean at first inspection, but once we ran the jets it was filthy. The place was very messy, I don’t recall being warned it was under renovation. Chair in room had a big tear in it. Carpet was trash. The elevator might as well be out of order. Takes forever to close. The blue cards we had to carry separately from our room keys to access public areas never worked, which you would need to use the stairs. So I was stuck using broken elevator. The balcony view of Solana Beach city hall employee parking lot left a lot to be desired. Oh, and the deck had holes in the floor, with plywood covering them.
