  : Communication with hosts excellent. Had a maintenance issue that they could not have foreseen and a handyman showed up very quickly. Relatively close to downtown. Parking was right outside the window and was easy to get luggage inside. These hosts are really trying, and that shows, but there are improvements needed.
  : If traveling alone, or as a couple needing only one bed, and staying a single night, this place may not represent value. That is because the cleaning fee applies to your stay of a single night and increases the cost higher than a competing motel. However if a family needed several beds (futon sofas) and for a longer stay, then this could be a good choice. So for me, the value wasn't there. Nextly, because they are using futon type sofas as seating, there is a lack of physical comfort in terms of relaxing. The furniture is minimal and cheap and not adequate in my opinion. This cottage is a 1920s or 1930s vintage and could have been just charming and cute on the inside, but they have gutted the place and installed too much overhead recessed spot lights and finished the drywall in knocked down sprayed texture. All finishes appear to be as cheap as possible excepting a granite countertop. I wish this place had been remodeled and decorated in a way more authentic to it's age, with smooth drywall, minimal overhead lighting (it's like being in an office), side tables with table lamps, a comfortable reading chair. There should be a dresser in the bedroom rather than a desk. The bed was not comfortable in my opinion. Instead of simple white drapes which are not expensive, there are venetian blinds which again contribute to the feeling you are in an office environment. This place needs a softer touch, and that is not difficult to accomplish. I am in this business in California, so I know that it could be done correctly. Lastly, this is in a working class neighborhood, which is fine. Just know the area is not upscale in anyway.

  : I had my own kitchen and laundry machine.
  : There was a huge muddy puddle in the drive way so Everytime you park you drag mud in. The squirrels sound like they are coming through the roof every morning. I was charged $80 for 700 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet set (which was not already in the bed), for a dirt spot in the sheet the size of a dime which the cleaning person said they couldn't remove even with bleach. The neighbor hood was definitely not what I would have chosen for my 3 young kids. The inside was nicely remodeled. Overall I would give this a 5.

  : Liked that it was a house and not motel. The remodel was fair. Nice job on the living room and kitchen remodel.
  : The driveway has a ton of nails in it. The washer doesnt work very well. The bed is a double/full bed and not large enough for 2 adults. The owner would not let us out of our reservation even though Covid levels were in the orange and the River boats and much of the Riverwalk was closed due to it. The primary reason we chose this location was because of its location to the Riverwalk and The Alamo, both of which were closed and we were unable to do the things we wanted. Booking.com had opened up for cancellations even on properties that had a no cancellation clause, but it was ultimately up to the property owner and this owner decided not to let us out of the booking. I was very disappointed.
