  : Paso Robles is an area reminiscent of the hills of Tuscany surrounding a small, vibrant upscale city. It is known for its vineyards and moderate climate. My wife and I planned to spend two nights in the area. It was our first time there, so we chose to spend one night in Cambria on the Pacific coast and one night inland at High Ridge Manor (HRM). The property is located in the rolling hills of ranch country far from anything commercial. We were greeted by one of the proprietors who offered us wine and a snack then showed us to our room. It was a scorching hot day so she turned on the room's through the wall air conditioner which worked well to cool our lower level room. The main floor of HRM is a large open space with a huge TV at one end and a kitchen at the other. Also, there are wonderful wineries within a half hour radius. There is a swimming pool with a hot tub, outdoor barbecue, a chicken coop, and a pomegranate tree. In the morning, our host made us a delicious breakfast. Lots of great memories!
  : This is a large house with many bedrooms. Ours had a separate entrance at ground level from the back of the house. We faced west, so watching the sun set over the rolling hills was our entertainment for the evening. The property needed some attention, but not enough to be discouraging to a prospective guest. We were hoping to use our in-room Jacuzzi, but there did not seem to be any hot water nor could we work the drain stopper. A wooden bench on our little patio was so weathered it was disintegrating. These were minor issues as High Ridge Manor is definitely worth a visit.
