  : The staff were obviously overwhelmed and understaffed by the full capacity of the hotel but were still very friendly abd helpful.
  : There was absolutely no organization of the booking system. I received a call from the hotel while I was at the ski hill threatening to call the sheriff to pack my belongings because I apparently didn't check out. The staff seemed unaware that my reservation was for the entire weekend.

  : Places to walk my dog nearby. Great small grocery/hardware store a stones throw away with the best little lemon cookies I've ever had and great deli. Parking available outside of room to keep an eye on van and kayaks. Quiet. Great price for accommodations given EXCEPT everything you might have to deal with.
  : No place to put used doggy bathroom baggies (no can outside). Clumps of hair from previous residents and their pets in corner by desk and corner by couch seen while unpacking for the trip(told prior to booking they have 4 newly remodeled rooms with hardwood for pet friendly stays. We would of course be staying in one of the four since we were traveling with our senior pup). No biggie. We left the dust bunnies be. Knew about the hardwood so I brought a large area rug to help Frito get around. Don't know if it was from the hair from previous pets, but we all ended up with itching and bumps. No bed bugs. It wasn't that. Frito is flea treated. Frito and my boyfriend were having itches on day 2 of 4 and I ended up getting bit up by something on the last day. It's a month later and I just now got pups skin back to good. Upon arrival mini fridge was unplugged. Had to get behind hutch and find an extension to plug it in. Took a whole day to get cold. Was told continental breakfast was "up front" from 5-9. Went up first morning at 8 and there wasn't anything but coffee and tea out. We looked around in doors off of main lobby for about 5 mins. Ended up going to get breakfast from a local shop. Next day we went and asked and they have it behind the counter. Good breakfast actually. Would have been stellar to have the day before. I'm sure they knew what we were rooting around for, but didn't care to share. I know they saw us looking, but were chatting with a group of other ppl staying and we felt weird about interrupting. This is where it gets bad. The first day we woke up there that Thursday and had to venture out for breakfast, we decided to take the dog for a nice long walk at a park. We planned on going out to the black river harbor area with the kayaks. We knew from the weather forecast it was going to be the only sunny, non cold, and non rainy day of our UP vacation.
