Shore to Please

  : The only thing that made it worth the stay at Shore to Please was the location.
  : I am a big fan of Booking.com. I am not a fan of other rental companies using Booking.com for their rentals, such as Vacasa. Vacasa needs to get their act together. As I mentioned, the location was great. What would have made it better was if the company took pride in securing a clean home for others to rent. I spent the first 2 hours washing all of the windows and cleaning the house. I am aware that I don't need to clean for them, however if Im staying at a beach house with a view I would certainly like to see the beach through the windows. No condiments, no ice, no laundry detergent, washing machine was broken, 2 tiny hotel sized bars of soap. The remote control would not work on the family room tv so we dealt with captions at the bottom of the screen the entire time. The towels were dry and scratchy, the beds were lumpy and gross, no screens on any windows that would actually open so you will not get that a beautiful ocean lullaby at night without an gang of mosquitos. No beach towels, beach toys, blankets, chairs or really anything so bring your own. No welcoming sign or card, nothing that told us of the area such as close restaurants or sights to see. All in all, its a place to hang your hat. No frills, nothing to make us want to go back. And with all of this they actually ask you to do chores for them before you leave. Another thing that the property isn't responsible for but that you should be aware of is that the beach it is on is kind of dirty. My daughter and I picked up a good amount of trash each morning so we could play and frolic without having to feel gross. However during one of our mornings I stepped in what I thought was gum, after trying to wash it off my husband said it was oil. A big old glob of black tar oil. I had to walk back and wash it off only to have it happen again the next morning.
