  : Planters Inn is a lovely old Relais and Chateaux property. Therefore, I expected our experience to be top notch and beyond reproach. While the property is lovely, it was not exceptional. No one even offered to help us up with our luggage at check in.
  : First, my husband has a demanding job and needed to be able to work occasionally on our trip. We expected to have a good internet connection in our Penthouse room, on the top floor. In fact, we barely had connection at all; only one corner of the room could accommodate a strong internet connection, and even then he had 2 bars. When we reported this to the hotel staff, they seemed annoyed by our complaint but said they'd try to resolve it. I asked them that if it couldn't be resolved, could they move us to a room that indeed had good wireless as stated by the description of the room. They explicitly told us that no other room had a problem, therefore I was sure they could at least move us to another room. They never did, and in fact, just kept putting us off and acting annoyed by us. I promise, we were super sweet about our complaint. Even speaking with the manager, he never apologized or offered any sort of solution whatsoever. We finally gave up. Second. This room says it has a courtyard view. It does not. It has a nice terrace with a huge stucco wall around it so that the only view is of business rooftops. Very uncool to advertise it as a courtyard or city view.Third. We had to call down (we were there 4 nights) 3 of 4 nights to have new towels, they never replenished the toiletries, and we had to ask for more toilet paper (very scratchy cheap toilet paper) since we only started with one roll, no extra. Also, the towels are small.We ate in the grill one night. The food was good, not special. The service was great, though, and the staff in the restaurant and bar are very polite and accommodating. The ambiance is beautiful.

  : The proximity of the hotel to downtown is first rate
  : The hotel is old and dated. The front desk staff were limited and lacked creativity in their helpfulness regarding the quality of our accommodations, and the importance of our stay (our 40th wedding anniversary).
